Cycloidal gear boxes, also known as cycloidal gear boxes or planetary gear boxes, are used in robotic applications. Compared with traditional gear boxes, they have many advantages, such as: wide transmission ratio range; High efficiency and small size.

They can withstand higher loads and impact forces than conventional gear drives because multiple cylinders are in contact at any given time. This allows for higher power density and smaller overall size while maintaining good torsional stiffness in dynamic applications.

The internal design of the cycloid gear box includes an offset CAM device that drives the rolling pin to turn the cycloid disc in the gear box. This cycloidal disc is capable of taking 500% overload without breaking the gearbox, which can be very useful in heavy industry applications such as tank stirrers.

Maintenance of Cyclo Drive:

  1. Disassembly: First, loosen the attachment bolt, disassemble 4 and 10, and then successively disassemble
    parts 6, 7, and 8. Assembly adopts the opposite order.
  2. Assembly
    Following attention should be paid to assembly:
  • Clean all parts before assembly.
  • Lubricate rolling and sliding surfaces to form the condition of insufficient lubrication.
  • Tags of two cycloidal wheels must be kept at 180°.
  • Carefully adjust the spring’s elasticity the in the rubber oil seal and lubricate the grease.
  • Inject lubricating oil or lubricating grease after assembly with horizontal oil level up to the red line of the oil.

  • Manually turn the high-speed shaft, and make an open drive if the check is OK. Check the working condition of the oil pump of the vertical reducer, and put it into use if the review is OK.
  • Strictly conform to requirements to disassemble the direct-coupled motor, and it is forbidden to start
    disassembly from the motor flange.
